BBQ cookbook suggestions

I'd like to get my husband a really nice barbecue cookbook. Though I love him dearly, the man is not so good at cooking meat to perfection. It's either undercooked or overcooked, and I'm not sure he's aware of this problem. He also loves experimenting with sauces.

What are your suggestions for delicious BBQ cookbooks?

I've tried to hint at it before and he'll sometimes acknowledge it at the time but then never seems to be concerned about it the next time. With undercooked stuff, he gets that. But then he overcompensates, if you get my drift.

If he's unconcerned then would a cookbook really help? How about finding some well-tested recipes (that perhaps include the tips you're wanting him to read) and asking him to try one (or two)?

I strongly recommend any of the Steve Raichlen books.

My man loves his BBQ Bible and we love watching the Steven Raichlen shows.

Maybe even a meat thermometer or something fun like a branding iron... :)
