I wanted to make these delicious looking
Homemade Strawberry Crossover Puff Pastries, but the
dough recipe is... well, a little more calorie-ridden than what I'm comfortable with? I know it will make a generous amount of the dough, but I don't think I've ever seen that amount of butter in the same place in my life. Even if I made the amount smaller, just thinking about the amount of it makes me feel a little queasy...
I was thinking of using half of
this pie dough recipe, (I use roughly half the amount normally) and I thought maybe if I coated it in egg or maybe a bit of apricot/peach jam so it'd look shiny and pretty... I'd like some advice though, do you have any suggestions?
Edit: I was hoping for some in between? something with a bit less butter than the flaky puff but more softness than the pie?
