You were all so helpful in my quest for a fruitcake recipe. So now I have another question.
We are about to be gifted with a LOT of Asian pears (sometimes called apple pears). We love them sliced into green salad, and eaten with cheese, but...
What about pickles? Not quick pickles - I've seen recipes for that - but the type of sweet pickles you put up in jars and seal with a lid and ring band for long-term storage.
Anyone have a recipe or experiences (for better or worse) canning them? Thanks!
