Thanks so much for your thoughts on my last post! It got picked up and mentioned in the New York Times Diners' Journal, so that was truly awesome. I love the discussion we were able to have

Wow... very cool mention in the NYT! While I didn't contribute or comment on the thread, I went back and read the original blog from the person who had an opinion that I didn't agree with, I felt that it was a nice discussion nonetheless. I was glad to see so many others out there, speaking the same words that I was thinking.
And this... Krispy Kreme breafkast thing looks OUTSTANDING. I prolly won't do it, because I'm so paranoid about calories these days... but it really looks yummy.
Apologies, and only because I'm a huge fan of the sandwich, but a Croque Madame isn't typically served on French toast, it's a grilled sandwich. The Monte Cristo is a fine variant served in the style of French Toast, which is what I sorta see this closer to only because typically a Croque Madame is topped with an egg, not sandwiched inside. Otherwise, this is a fine sandwich that heralds the Luther Burger!
Ah, you're right! My mistake -- I think of it as French toast because the versions that had gotten me excited about the sandwich (one at Disney World, for instance) use it. :)
I almost did place the egg on top, but as a physical practicality, decided it had better go inside. I fully intend to try KK egg-in-a-nest someday...
I would be totally down for a KK Egg in a Nest, that makes total sense! It's built for an egg in the middle, which makes me wonder why this hasn't need done before!
