Lemon & Passionfruit Sponge Cake

A birthday cake for my lovely friend Sarah. Recipe comes from the wonderful Jennifer Graham's The Crabapple Bakery Cupcake Cookbook.

Unfortunately I was quite short on time while decorating, so nothing's as smooth or polished as I'd like. Hopefully it still tastes great, though!

What are caster sugar and custard powder?

It looks delicious, btw <3

I believe caster sugar is superfine sugar (or regular sugar that has been run through a food processor to make the crystals a bit finer) if you were to look for it in the stores in the US.

Here's the wiki for custard powder: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird%27s_Custard I bet that you could substitute a container of instant pudding mix for it. (I'd probably use a vanilla flavored packet)
