Looking for a cookie recipe

I am not sure of the name of the cookie I am looking for. It was a drop cookie and I was told it was a "ginger cookie". Some Amish friends of ours went to a cookie exchange and they gave us a plate and this was one of the cookies on it. The wife doesn't have the recipe and isn't sure who made it. I saw something called "brown sugar cookies" on America's Test Kitchen that sound pretty similar. You might find some good recipes for those :) Good luck!

It sounds like a gingersnap to me. The molasses really doesn't overwhelm the taste at all, and you could always sub it out for brown sugar.

sounds like pfeffernusse you can make them with powdered sugar or glaze i like the glaze myself.

Seconded. Could also be lebkuchen, which has a lot of variants, including a bunch very similar to pfeffernusse!

Ina Garten's ultimate ginger cookie recipe is really good. I've subbed out the molasses and used dark brown corn syrup with no ill effects.
