how to: jam?

Today I was introduced to the idea of making jam at our farmer's market with peaches.. However, no one in my family/friends knows how to make it.

Anyone have any good links? I have been glancing through Google, but having a hard time making heads or tails over the links I've seen. Also, anything on canning?
