Pumpkin Stuffed with Everything Good

Nov 22, 2010 16:57

Hello, cooking! I heard this story + recipe on the radio weeks ago: Here.

It is a delicious sounding recipe involving stuffing a pumpkin with...well, "everything good." However, no where does it specify what type of pumpkin I should be stuffing! I hear that jack-o-lantern pumpkins are the wrong way to go, but don't know what else to look for. The closest grocery store only seems to have smaller gourds. Anyway, is there a specific type of pumpkin that I should hunt for to make this beauty? My guess is a cinderella pumpkin, but I don't think I've seen anything like it...just jumbo carving pumpkins.

Thanks!

Update: Great responses! I'll see if I can locate a nearby pumpkin farm for a cinderella (I think noticed a stand selling various winter squash and pumpkins around Halloween). And if not, I'll try one of the other suggestions!
