Tonight I experimented. Every year for Valentine's Day, I buy my dad a box of cordial cherries, which he likes except for the syrup. I thought the logical thing to do would be buying regular cherries and dipping them in semisweet chocolate, which he prefers to milk.

Well, there were no cherries to be found. Instead, I bought some raspberries. Upon opening the box, I realized dipping them would be a recipe for disaster (ha ha). Instead, I decided to spread them out a bit on wax paper, melt the chocolate, and make a sort of "bark".

The raspberries are still too delicate for it to have worked really well, but it did work. Unfortunately, I got lazy and used red cake-decorating gel to finish them rather than making and coloring a glaze. I hope the gel will set, but if not, it's still pretty tasty and cute!
