“You two aren’t suppose to bring your phone to a recording, Hyung,” Kevin told Alexander. “They were off,” Alexander said, rolling his eyes, annoyed at Kevin’s nagging. “But Manager Hyung said to leave them in the car,” Kevin said. “But we are suppose to follow the rules and you-,” Kevin continued “Kevin, it’s not a big deal so drop it!,” Alexander said, finally snapping on Kevin. Kevin looked shocked and hurt that Alexander yelled at him. “I-I’m sorry, Hyung,” Kevin said, looking down sadly, “I was jus-.” “You were just being a pest like always!,” Alexander said, still yelling at Kevin, “I swear you’re a girl you nag so much!” Eli was coming out of the studio when he heard the yelling. “What’s going on?,” he wondered, going to the room where the yelling was coming from. When Eli walked in he saw an angry Alexander, who was still yelling, and a tearful Kevin. “Hyung! Why are you yelling at Kevin?,” Eli said, walking over to Alexander, getting defensive for his Kevin. “Because he is being a pest!,” Alexander said, now angry, “And I’m sick of it!” Kevin just stood there, his arms hugged around his stomach and tears rolling down his face. “Don’t yell at him!,” Eli said, getting in Alexander face, “You know he’s sensitive! You always are so mean to him, Hyung! Stop it!” “Don’t tell me with to do Pigeon Boy,” Alexander spat out, “I’m the oldest, not you! So you don’t tell me anything!” Eli’s eyes narrowed. Pigeon was an affectionate nickname that U-Kiss gave him but the way Alexander just used it was meant to be an insult. “Who cares if you’re the oldest,” Eli said, shoving Alexander hard, causing Alexander to step back and stumble over a box. Alexander fell, landing on his butt. “Don’t you ever yell at Kevin like that ever again!,” Eli said, glaring at Alexander, before turning towards Kevin. “Are you ok Kev?,” Eli asked, taking Kevin’s tearstained face in his hands and lifting it to look Kevin in the eyes. Kevin looked at Eli, tears still falling, lip quivering. “I wasn’t trying to nag,” Kevin told him quietly. “He knows, he’s just being mean,” Eli said, wiping Kevin’s tears with his thumbs, “It’s alright Kev.” Kevin just nodded but tears still kept falling. All of a sudden Eli was rammed from behind, causing him to fall, knocking Kevin over in the process, landing on top of him and causing Kevin to hit his head hard on the ground. “Ow,” Kevin moaned, closing his eyes, wincing at the pain. Eli snapped his head around to see who had rammed into him and sure enough, it was Alexander. Alexander stood over the both of them with an evil smirk on his face. “That will teach you to shove me, Pigeon Boy,” he said, coldly before turning towards the door. That did it. Eli lunged at Alexander, knocking him down on the ground. Eli started smacking Alexander in the face, hitting him with all his strength. Alexander wrapped his hands around Eli throat, choking him, but Eli kept swinging. Kevin had long gotten off the floor and was trying to pull the two apart. “You guys stop it! Stop! Stop!,” Kevin said, trying to push himself in between Alexander and Eli, “Please don’t fight! Stop it!” But because of Kevin’s small frame and not being really that strong, he wasn’t able to do much. Alexander suddenly felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and he noticed Eli was now biting him. “YAH!,” Alexander yelled, making a fist and swinging it hard towards Eli’s head. But because Kevin was still trying to pull them apart, Alexander ended up punching Kevin in the eye. Kevin screamed and fell back, his hands over his eye. When Eli realized that Alexander had just punched Kevin, thinking he had done it on purpose, he really started tearing into Alexander. Their manager finally came into the room to see what all the commotion. He saw Kevin on the floor, holding his eye, crying and Alexander and Eli rolling around on the floor, fighting. “YAH! YAH! YAH!,” the Manager yelled, rushing over to the two fighting members, pulling them apart forcefully. However Eli and Alexander kept trying to get at each other, so the Manager had to call for help. Two other men, the studio manager and one of the cameramen, came and helped hold Eli and Alexander apart from each other. When Eli and Alexander were finally restrained, the Manager went over to Kevin to see what had happened, since he figured the other two would each have a different story. He knelt down to Kevin who was still holding his eye. The Manager gently took Kevin’s face in his hand and slowly removed Kevin’s hand from his eye. When the Manager saw Kevin’s eye, he was furious. Kevin’s eye was almost swollen shut and it was starting to bruise. The Manager pushed down his anger, for the moment, and asked Kevin, “What happened Kev? Why is your eye swollen like this?” Kevin started to lower his head but the Manager lifted it back up to look Kevin in the eye. “It’s nothing,” Kevin said, not wanting to tattle on Alexander, “It was just an accident, I’ll be ok.” The Manager looked at Kevin, but Kevin wasn’t going to tattle. He never did. The Manager finally said, “Ok, Kev, go ask one of the studio noonas to give you some ice for your eye.” “Ok, Hyung,” Kevin said, getting off the floor, replacing his hand back over his eye.
Once Kevin had left, the Manager turned towards Alexander and Eli, who were still being held by the cameraman and the studio director. “Ok,” the Manager said, rubbing his forehead, trying not to blow up, “What happened?” Both boys started talking at once. “Eli pushed me!” “He was yelling at Kevin!” “Because he was being a nag!” “You brought your phone inside the studio!” “Oh my god! It was off!” “Doesn’t matter! Rules are Rules!” “QUIET!,” the Manager finally yelled, shutting both boys up. Eli and Alexander just glared at each other. The Manager took some deep breaths. He was ready to do these two boys seriously bodily harm, firstly because they were fighting, which was forbidden among U-Kiss, secondly because they were fighting in public, and thirdly one of them had given Kevin a black eye and U-Kiss had a photo shoot the next day. Well when the Manager got Eli and Alexander home, Kevin wouldn’t be the only one who would be marked up. “I am very angry with you two,” the Manager said, walking back in forth in front of the two, “You know better, know better, and yet you were fighting, FIGHTING! And in the studio of all places! And now Kevin has a black eye? How did that happen? Huh? How did it happen?” Neither of the boys said anything, they were still fuming at each other, so they weren’t even really paying attention to the Manager. “Hello? I’m talking to you two,” the Manager said, waving his hands in front of the two, “Are you even listening to me? How, no, who hit Kevin?” Eli shot Alexander a death glare but didn’t say anything. He was a tattletale either. Alexander narrowed his eyes even more and said, “Eli did.” Eli was shocked. How dare Alexander lie on him! “YOU LIAR!,” Eli yelled, lunging at Alexander, breaking from the cameraman. By the time the cameraman realized what had just happened, Eli had his hands back around Alexander neck, screaming at him. “YOU HIT KEVIN AND YOU KNOW YOU DID!,” Eli screamed. Now the studio director and the Manager and the cameraman were trying to pry Eli off of Alexander. It wasn’t easy because Eli was a really strong kid. Kevin had come back into the room, holding an ice pack on his eye and when he saw Eli choking Alexander, he screamed, “ELI! STOP! DON’T CHOKE HIM! YOU’LL KILL HIM!” And from the looks of it Eli was so consumed by anger, he just might have if they hadn’t finally pulled him off of Alexander. Alexander fell back, gasping for air, hands around his own neck, shooting a look of death at Eli. Eli, now pinned down, shot one right back at him. “EVERYBODY CALM DOWN!,” the Manager yelled, “CALM DOWN!” The room became quiet, the only sounds coming from Eli who was breathing hard from the adrenaline rush and Alexander who was still trying to get air back in his lungs. The Manager finally calmed himself back down and said, “Alright, everybody in the car. We will finish dealing with this back at the apartment.” Alexander stormed out the room. The Manager shook his head and followed him out. Eli was still being pinned to the floor. “Uh, you can let me up,” he said, to the cameraman and studio director who still had him pinned down. “Oh, sorry,” they said, letting him go. Eli set up and rubbed his arms on the spots where he was held down at. Kevin went over and sat on Eli’s lap, put his arms around Eli’s neck. Eli looked at Kevin’s eye and made a face. It was turning a purple color now. He reached up and gently touched Kevin’s eye. Kevin winced, slinking back a bit from Eli’s touch and said softly, “Ow.” “I’m sorry, Kevy,” Eli said, gently placing a kiss near the eye. Kevin smiled. “It’s ok, it’s just a little tender, that’s all,” he said, sweeping his bangs over the eye to cover it. Eli smiled back but inside he was thinking, Alexander is going to pay for that. I’ll make sure of it. They sat there for a minute, Eli’s arms around Kevin’s waist and Kevin resting his head on Eli’s shoulder. Finally Kevin said, “We should head to the car.” “Don’t want to,” Eli said, pouting cutely, “I just want to sit here with you.” Kevin smiled and said, “I know, but we got to go.” He tried to get up but Eli wouldn’t let him, his arms tightening around Kevin’s waist. “Eli,” Kevin said, turning to face him, “Let me up.” Eli shook his head and scrunched up face. Kevin raised an eyebrow and pinched Eli’s scrunched up nose. “You’re so cute when you do that,” Kevin said. “Which is why I do it,” Eli said, smiling. Kevin laughed and kissed Eli on the nose and said, “Come on, let’s go.” When he tried to get up again, Eli let him. “Come on,” Kevin said, holding a hand out to Eli. Eli smirked and grabbed Kevin’s hands. Kevin tried to pull him up but couldn’t. “You have to meet me half way,” Kevin said, “I’m not that strong, you know.” “Ok, pull and I’ll help,” Eli said. Kevin nodded and pulled but Eli pulled too. And since Eli was stronger he pulled Kevin right on top of him. “Oops,” Eli said, smiling and wrapping his arms around Kevin. “You’re being bad,” Kevin said, play punching Eli in the chest. “No I’m not,” Eli said cutely, kissing Kevin’s nose. “Stop it,” Kevin said, trying not to smile, “We need to go. Now.” “Eli play scowled and said, “Ok.” He got up and pulled Kevin up. “Good boy,” Kevin said, “Let’s go.” He reached out for Eli’s hand. Eli happily took it and they headed to the car.
When they reached the car, Eli soundly remembered why he had been so upset before. Alexander had punched his Kevy. “What took you two so long?,” the Manager asked. “Uh,” Eli said, trying to come up with an excuse, “No reason, just were talking.” “Well, hurry up and get in. You and Xander are still in big trouble,” the Manager said, “You know the rules about fighting and the rules about bringing your phone inside the studio during a recording.” “OMG, It was off,” Alexander said, scoffing, “You make such a big deal about it like I was actually talking on it. Relax.” The Manager turned around and said, “Alexander, you will not talk to me in that tone and you will respect what I say when I set rules.” “Whatever,” Alexander said, rolling his eyes, “I’m 22, I’m not Dongho’s age. I can do what I want.” “Yes, you can,” the Manager said, turning back to face the wheel, “But you will also suffer the consequences for doing what you want.” “Whatever,” Alexander said, again. “Close your mouth Alexander,” the Manager said, starting to get angry again. Eli looked at Alexander wondering why he was goading the manager on like this. Between him punching Kevin and now being disrespectful to the manager, he must really have a death wish. “Why?,” Alexander said, “I can’t say what I want now? Who made that law?” “Alexander,” the Manager warned, “You’re asking for it…” “Asking for what? To be kicked out of U-Kiss? You can’t do that because I’m under contract.” “No, but you are asking to be spanked right here, right now,” the Manager said. Kevin eyes widened. The Manager wouldn’t actually spank Alexander right in the studio parking lot where people could see and hear…would he? “Spank me? You’re going to spank me? Really? Oh that’s a good one! I’m 22 years old! You can’t spank me!,” Alexander said. The Manager lost it. He snapped around to face Alexander. “Listen here, Mr. High and Mighty, I have had enough of your mouth! You will not disrespect me, not now, not ever! And you are going to sit there with your mouth shut or I will pull you out of this van, march you back inside the studio, put you over my knee and wear you out in front of the whole studio! You already have a spanking coming when you get home for how you acted in the studio and unless you want another one I suggest you shut up! Do you understand me?” Alexander was dumbstruck. The Manager had never blown up at him like this before. And since the Manager was a pretty big man, Alexander actually believed him. “Y-Yes, hyung, I’m sorry, I understand,” Alexander said, sitting back timidly. The car got very quiet. Eli and Kevin just looked back and forth from the Manager and Alexander. The Manager was still turned towards Alexander, waiting to see if Alexander really was going to sit there and be quiet. When Alexander still didn’t say anything, the Manager turned back around and started the car.
While they were driving back to the apartment, the Manager explained what was going to happen when they got back to the apartment. “When we get to the apartment, Eli and Alexander, you two go to your bedroom and wait, quietly. Even though I probably should punish you two in front of the others as an example, I am going to send the rest of the boys out for a couple hours so I can deal with you in private. Don’t make me change my mind,” he said, looking in the rear view mirror at Alexander. Alexander looked back, glaring. “Ok, Hyung,” Eli said. Kevin looked at Eli, worried. Eli smiled at him and pulled Kevin closer to him, wrapping an arm around Kevin’s waist, placing a kiss on his forehead. Alexander looked at them and rolled his eyes.
When they got to the apartment, Eli and Alexander went to their bedroom with strict orders to sit on their own beds and not go near the other. Kevin grabbed Eli’s hand when he turned to go to the room. Eli looked at him and Kevin had a scared look in his eyes. Eli sighed and smiled. “I’m going to be ok, Kevy, really.” “But he’s going to beat you…” “He’s not going to beat me, he’s going to spank me, probably with a belt but that’s about as bad as it will probably get.” “Probably?” “Yeah, probably.” “You think it could get worse?” “No…just saying.” “Oh.” Kevin didn’t look convinced. Eli pulled Kevin into his arms and said in Kevin’s ear, “It’s ok Kevy, don’t worry so much.” “How can I not worry when you’re going to be in pain?” “Just try not to think about it, ok?” “I’ll try…” “Good,” Eli said, giving Kevin a quick peck on the lips. “Eli,” the Manager said, sternly, “Bedroom. Go.” “Yes, Hyung.” Eli gave Kevin another quick peck before letting go of him and heading to the bedroom. “Soohyun! Dongho! Kiseop! And Kibumie! Come here please!,” the Manager called throughout the house. The other four boys came running into the living room. “What’s up, Hyung,” Dongho asked. “You 5 are going out for a couple hours.” “Why?,” Kiseop asked, sitting down on the couch. “Because I said so.” “Why aren’t Xander Hyung, and Eli coming?,” Soohyun asked. “Because they’re in trouble.” “So why do we have to go out,” Kiseop asked again. “Because they are in trouble.” Kiseop looked at the Manager strange for a second before it dawned on him. “Oh, they’re in trouble,” Kiseop said, smirking. “What did they do?,” Dongho asked. “Don’t worry about it,” the Manager said, handing Soohyun some money, “It’s about 3 now, so stay out until about 6. Here’s some money for food.” Kevin just looked sadly at the floor. He didn’t want to leave Eli. “Alright guys,” the Manager said, heading towards the bedroom, “Go. Bye.” “I want to go the movies!,” Dongho said, excitedly. “No, let’s go to the amusement park,” Kiseop said, getting up. “No I want to go the movies,” Dongho said, stamping his foot. “That’s great,” Kiseop said, “But I’m older so we’re going to the amusement park.” “Well since I have the money,” Soohyun said, “We’re going where I say we’re going. I say we go to…the art gallery.” “Ewww! Nooo!,” both Dongho and Kiseop said, making faces. Kibum laughed and said, “How about we ask Kevin since he looks so sad. By the way Kev, what’s wrong?” “Huh?,” Kevin said, looking up, “Oh nothing, it doesn’t matter to me where we go.” “Wait,” Kiseop said, coming closer to Kevin, “What is…WHOA! What happen to your eye?” “What?,” Soohyun said, coming over, looking, “Oh my god, Kevin! What happened? Who hit you?” “Somebody hit Kevin hyung?,” Dongho said, running over. Kibum grabbed Kevin’s face and lifted it to look. “Whoa, it’s swollen and bruised pretty bad,” Kibum said, “We should go to the hospital.” “No, no, really it’s fine,” Kevin said, removing his face from Kibum’s grip, “The swelling is already starting to go down, so don’t worry.” The other 4 just looked at him, not believing him. Kevin shrugged his shoulders and said, “Really, it’s ok. Let’s go.” “Alright Kev,” Soohyun said, “If you’re sure…let’s go guys.” “So movies?” “So amusement park?” “Art gallery!” “EWWW NOOOO!” “Hyung I’m not going to an art gallery!” “Then sit outside.” “It’s cold outside!” “Then I guess you’re going to have to come into the art gallery huh?” “Aish, hyung…you’re so annoying.” Kevin was the last one to leave the apartment. He sighed. I’ll be fine, don’t worry. But Kevin couldn’t help but worry…he sighed and shut the door.
