Writer's Block: A literary masterpiece
WHEN THEY ARE KIDS I WILL READ THEM DR SEUSS BOOKS :) (like I'm reading them to my brother now heehee! ^.^) Books like 'One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish' and the Cat in the Hat series they are so fun to read oh goodness :DDDDDD (and when they grow up/older, I will give them individual copies of 'Oh, The Places You'll Go!' because it is an Essential book :)
And maybe I will read to them Shel Silverstein because his poems are good too, or The Berenstein Bears because I grew up listening to my dad read them to me :) Roald Dahl, maybe some books and maybe not others. LIke I would never read any kid The Glass Elevator because reading it gave me nightmares of big grey ugly long things eating me up when I was a kid :( Maybe I will read Winnie the Pooh, and definitely collections of fairy tales ^.^
(oh yknow if i can ever find a copy of 'Are You My Mother?' again I think I would read it to them too!! Somehow I have a very strong impression of my mum reading that book to me pre-preschool LOL. I also remember vandalising it beyond recognition because I was at the age where Everything Must Be Marked By Zigzag Pen-Scribbles hehehehe :)
When they grow older (and provided they like fantasy) I will introduce them to Robin Hobb {even though her books are quite Adult hurhur but nevermind I survived growing up with them! ;) admittedly I picked the Farseer trilogy off the higher parts of the family shelves but ohwell~ because the books are That Good I swear they get better over the years/with every re-reading :)
Also have a secret soft spot for the WarriorCats world by Erin Hunter, as well as the Tamora Piece world of Tortall and Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar world! All authors and serieses that I have been borrowing since I was a kid (although only WarriorCats is in the kids' section lol), and they are still producing books 'till now! (HAVE I MENTIONED HOW EXCITED I AM THAT MASTIFF BY TAMORA PIERCE IS FINALLY COMING OUT SOON!! :D)
(haha this reminds me of how my aunt introduces me to super a lot of fantasy books/books in general because that is our Love and my cousins have long since stopped reading as much! :)
