Cake and TV

Well, I think I’m getting the hang of some of this LJ stuff. Though I’m a little confused as to why, when I put my location as ‘My Flat’ on my first entry, it linked itself to a map of a Bakewell Ingredients Factory. In Malaysia. Whilst I do enjoy the occasional bakewell tart, I have yet to move into a production factory.

I’ve been having Captain Jack withdrawal after watching all three seasons of Torchwood for the first time over the last few months, and then making my mum watch them all with me again, when she came to visit (for her own enjoyment, of course). So I’ve moved onto Doctor Who, and am impatiently awaiting the Jack episodes. I only watched the first series and a half when it was on TV, and I can’t remember that too well, so it’ll be mostly new to me. I got the series 1-4 boxset for Christmas, which is adorably small and fits beautifully on my shelf - very important! Though it does have an episode guide with it which has that annoying problem of being made from the kind of black paper that gets smudge marks as soon as you touch it. Making me look like I have disturbingly greasy fingers, which I’m relatively sure I don’t.

Anway, I’m two episodes in and enjoying it, despite being somewhat taken aback during the first ep by The Worst Photoshop Job Ever of Christopher Eccleston at the Kennedy assassination, and also by Rose’s inability to notice that her boyfriend had turned into plastic. Seriously, woman! Still, Billie Piper is very cute and Eccleston is appealing in a slightly manic and occasionally creepy way. I’m sure I used to think he was hot when I saw it on TV, but that has… passed.
