Inches and Miles Away
Another evening, another argument.
Gwen lies in bed, both inches and miles from Rhys. Calming herself with the steady sounds of her little girl's breathing through the baby monitor.
Every night she tries to let go of the anger. Anger at her job, for its dullness and monotony. At Rhys, for not understanding why she spends most days restless and on edge. At Jack, for leaving.
And mostly, anger at the part of her that still waits for Jack to return, even whilst she knows he never will. The part of her that will wait for Captain Jack Harkness forever.
