Our 16-year-old cat, Oliver has lost a lot of weight. We took him to the vet and got a few medications for him, but the vet doesn't yet know if he is having thyroid problems, or something more serious. His liver #s were high. He puts all of his energy into avoiding those pills no matter how we try to give them to him. Poor little guy.
As for the Oscars, I caught the second half of it and may view the first half on Tivo tonight. I'd say that for the most part, the people I was rooting for emerged the winners. I'm especially happy that "Falling Slowly" from the movie Once got the Oscar--lovely, lovely song. I thought for sure that one of the three nominated songs from Enchanted would get it. It's nice that such a tiny movie got some press and recognition. Unlike when Aimee Mann lost out to Phil Collins for that "cartoon monkey love song" back in the late 90s!
Strangely, I didn't observe too many fashion disasters on the red carpet. Well, I suppose that Daniel Day-Lewis and wife Rebecca Miller looked a bit frumpy and clownish, but I'll give them a pass due to their talent.
As for the "Separated at Birth" portion--I think I've noticed this similarity before, but seeing the strikingly androgynous Tilda Swinton on the red carpet reminded me of another strikingly androgynous, ectomorphic Brit:
Damn! Finding comparable poses is harder than I thought! Anyway...
