Short rant

Apr 30, 2010 04:15

I got a little frustrated at work today due to the laziness and lack of compassion I was seeing in my coworkers. I've been doing the tech thing for a long time, and I've also worked on the ambulance... I understand that seeing the same patient can be irritating or that sometimes you just want to sit. But guess what? People come to the ER to be seen because something isn't right. Whether it's physical or psychological or made up, it is our responsibilty as medical professionals to make sure that everything that can be done is done. It's very frustrating to me when I tell someone that they need to see their patient immediately and they say "WHY"? why? Because I said so, that's why. If I didn't think it was necessary, would I tell you? No. I'm not an idiot. I can tell when a person is sick from when a person is faking. And trust me, it's way more of an inconvenience to me that I'm not a nurse than it is to you. I'd rather be doing your job and making your salary, instead of doing your job and making half of it while you make money for doing nobodys job. And this isn't true of all nurses. The real problem I have with the whole thing is that I have a list of the staff that I WORK WITH, that I would never want working on me if I were in a life threatening situation. That's really very sad. And now, I am tired and my short rant has turned into a long one.

Good night.
