I won't rehash my QF argument, but I was talking to D week before last and he shared with me a joke...well, an anecdote...that demonstrates perfectly why I get upset that some Christians refuse to be responsible for their own actions, insisting that God must make their path and provide for them, no matter the choices they might make.

For me, as a question of faith - it's two very different visions of what god is. I believe I was given common sense, intelligence and the ability to use those things to help myself and those in my life. More that that, I'm a social justice christian and I believe it's my job to use those gifts, those tools to help when I can. To not use them, to simply wait to be helped or saved is, IMO, a repudiation of the gifts I was blessed with ( ... )

Exactly!!

Not every "saving" is handed to you on a silver platter or an engraved invitation- sometimes you have to be willing to see the opportunity in front of you and (again) be willing to take it...
