I was just glancing through the Martha Stewart Cooking Class (?) cookbook last night, and they have some yummy recipes for homemade ranch dressing, which I've never made. I think I might try that or the blue cheese dressing sometime soon. I think it might be one of those things, like mayonnaise, that isn't that hard to make, but no one bothers anymore. And since I'm trying to avoid corn syrup and hydrogenated oils, it might be easier to do that if I make my own. My only concern is that I don't think the homemade dressing really 'keeps' that well, so you have to make a fresh batch each time.

Although I use Duke's now, ages ago I made my own mayo. It took very little time and had an unbelievably light, silky viscosity. As for dressings, I rarely make anything other than vinaigrettes, although I have made bleu cheese and others in the past. Homemade taste infinitely better. No comparison.

Another good one to try is Ken's (Steak House) Lite Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette. Mmmmmm, so good. We love it during the Spring and Summer on salads.
