belated part 13. of shanghai trip post...

cont. from part 12...

by now most of the ppl have already arrived... the line was divided into several smaller lines/sections according to our numbered ticket... we were in the beginning of second section, so my friends told me that we could probably be in the mid-back section of the front... according to their previous experience, the floor would be divided into 2 sections: front aka mosh pit, and back, by a iron fence... and not everyone could with stand the moshing, ie. they would go and stand on the platform or 2nd floor, so even there were over a hundred ppl in section 1, we should be able to squeeze ourselves in somewhere close to the stage by the time mucc is up... since i've never been to a live in china, i could only nod and imagine what all that means :P

so when it's time for us to go in, i was following the lead of my friends... when we got up the stairs, i understood in an instant what my friends tried to explain to me earlier... the front section was basically the same area for the 4 rows of chairs for the press from yesterday's press con, minus the chairs... it is fairly small and one could still see the stage clearly if you stood near the back of it... and also as my friends predicted, some of the ppl who got in earlier had taken spots on the 2nd floor and the platform, which probably has the best view of the stage... but since we are not trying to get a best view, we only wanted to be in the mosh pit, in the middle of all the action, we found ourselves standing somewhere near the back of the front section... with about 7 rows of ppl infront of us... and since acid android is up first, some of the aa fans would no doubt move back/leave after their performance and we could move closer to the stage then...

while we were waiting for it to start, there was a nagging thought on my mind... whether i could last/stand throughout the whole thing without collapsing... because for the 30yrs of my existance, i have never stood longer periods of time in one day (morning line up 3 hrs + the 3 hrs now + the 2&1/2 hrs live coming up) than that day (not to mention the 3 hrs for the press meeting yesterday)... and after all i'm no longer 20... while i'm telling my friend my worries, the one that took me to the CD shop, she said not to worry since we have pretty good spots, ie.  we could move forward when mucc comes up, and we could also move back to the fence (there were only 2 roles of ppl behind us that separate us from the fence) and get away from the mosh... but the other 2 disagreed, after all they are younger, and they have decided to sneak a bit further up from the other (right) side...

we waiting for nearly 1/2 an hr, there were a couple of staff/sound technicians running around the stage checking the equipment... so you could imagine the big cheer they got, when the staff on the stage raised his hands and did a big 'maru' (circle, meaning 'OK') to show the guy with the controls up the back on the 2nd floor...

first up was acid android, i've only listened to one aa song before, so i was eager to hear more of them... the music was great, but i just couldn't get myself to like the unique way that yukihiro sang (no offense to yuki fans)... but i did wave my hand a bit, despite not knowing their songs, it was easy to be carried away with the energetic crowd and the rhythm-heavy music...  yuki, as expected was a lot more active as a vocal and even though he don't have so many gestures as hyde or tatsuro, but he did look pretty hot throughout... so yeah i did shout out yuki a couple of times ^^, i also quite like the guitarist, tomo (i think that's his name :P)... while mentally reminding myself i should reserve some energy for mucc, i find it impossible to stand back during the live, as what my friend had done half way through...

so after aa, which lasted about 1.20 mins., there was a little break before mucc comes on... and as my friends had predicted, some of the aa fans up front did move back a little, a couple of them even left, letting us move up a bit... my friend and i chatted a bit, and i told her that i would buy aa's album "faults" (china version) tomorrow, that was available at where i got mucc's shirt, etc, as a souvenier... and while we waited for mucc, i start to realise that my feet were indeed quite numb... so yeah, we did a little stepping/stretching on the spot... as we sneak closer to the stage LOL... until we are only 4/5 rows from the stage a bit left to the centre of the stage ^^...

con't. next time...

right now, i'm a bit stressed since i need to act as the receptionist/table organiser in the next hour for the stupid annual dinner for some boring association that my boss is a board member of *shakes head*... i hate these gatherings...
