part 8...evening of the first nite...

May 22, 2006 17:19

still continuing, yes, i'm pretty determined this time... cos i really want to record everything (well, everything i could remember) here, so i could look back on it anytime (at the office LOL)... so yeah bear (ignore) me :P

cont. from last post...

so after i bought the T's at uniqlo, i didn't have to wait too long, the rain stopped... so i drag my already tired body back to the hotel... did i say how close my hotel was to xintiandi? (can't remember) anyway, it's just a little over 10 minutes walk... and of cos i had my earphones on listening to houyoku ^^

after i got back to my hotel room, i took a nice hot shower ...sang saishuu ressha on the top of my lungs in the bathroom LOL ... yup another thing great about my hotel room was not only that it's on the end of the hallway, it's also arond the corner of the main hallway, ie. no room directly next door but a fire exit!! so no one would hear my horrible singing (i hope :P)...

then i took everything out of my back pack and luggage, since i didn't have time to unpack when i first arrived... i rearranged the stuff so i only carried the essentials (map, wallet, passport etc), and went out for dinner...

but before that there's still time to do some shopping... so i walked towards city centre, to the book shops ^^ the chinese books in china are printed with simplified text, different to the 'complex' or 'old' text that HK (and taiwan) use, but i could guess most of the characters plus it's so much cheaper to buy mainland chinese books so it's a must for us nerds to go book shopping...

it's already 8.30pm when i got to the bookshop, so i didn't stay long, just bought 3 books and forced myself to leave (it's so easy to get 'lost' in those big book shops, i could easily have stayed there for hours without getting bored)... it's 10 hours since i last ate, i had to remind myself ^^

so i went back the way i came, and went inside a nice looking ramen shop ^^... and here's the menu

*nods* chinese/japanese fusion ramen ya LOL

i'm hungry already... TAT

*salivates*

not only do they look good... they tasted pretty good  ^^ (at least what i ordered) and pretty cheap as well...

so i ordered a tonkotsu noodle with fried chicken pieces (18rmb), ebi furai onigiri (2pce for 8rmb), and a special hot (chilli) gyoza (8pcs for 8rmb)... of cos i couldn't finish it *sigh* eventhough i was so hungry... i took the gyoza away back with me to the hotel... (there's a microwave there)...

and after filling myself full with food, it's time to walk back to hotel... this is a pic i took while walking back...

for some reason, i really like this pic... very hard to describe, but it felt kinda dreamy... it looks (to me) like that it could be a pic taken from any cities in the world... i'm not sure what i wanna say, but yeah...

time to go home la ...continue later...
