(boring) details of my trip pt. 1...
since i had 'the time of my life' with this trip to shanghai... i've decided to post a record of it here... all the boring details, mainly for my own amusment... and i would be doing it in parts, since i'm still busy at work...
part 1: day 1 - 21/4/06 Friday...
woke up at 4.20am... did most of the packing up on the night before, so i just went and took a shower to freshen up, to be ready for my journey...
walked to the bus station at 5am to catch the last 'Night' bus, N11, to the airport... bus arrived at 5.10, there were a lot more passenger there than i expected... took a little nap...
arrived airport at 6.20... waited at counter H to pickup my tickets from the group ticket organiser... 6.30, the time written on my confirmation letter from the travel agent, still no sign of the organiser... 6.40 slight panic, went over to the airline counter to ask for help... the lady that worked there pointed out that the organiser was there already, she was standing next to the pillar... that's why i didn't see her, >.< ...
7am, eating breakfast at burger king, inside the departure area... other choices were ramen or hk style fast food, i guess they are a bit heavy for breakfast... the gate was on the other side, so i needed to catch one of those shuttle trains... browsed the bookshops and gift shops... of cos, didn't buy anything, can't spend any money now in case i need them later for buying tour goods xdd...
boarded the plane at 8... it was a very small plane, with just 3 seats on both side of the single aisle... plane took off at 8.30... 12D, aisle seat (i prefer aisle seat), sat next to a family of 5, mom, dad, daughter, son in law, and aunt (mom & dad on my side, and others sat behind)... it's their first time to shanghai, except the 'dad', who was born in shanghai but haven't been back for over 30 years... they now live in uk, and one of their daughter married a german, and is living in hamburg most of the time...
since the trip is very short, just a little over 2 hours, they wasted no time and started to serve drinks & breakfast straight away... i had 'western' style ie, eggs & sausage + fruits... this would be my 'lunch' ^^...
arrived at pudong airport at quarter to 11... by the time i left the airport is already half past 11...
