my first recipee is my "super-duper sickness killing soup"
4 lg cloves garlic (chopped rough)
1 lg sweet onion (large dice)
3 boneless chicken breasts (cut into 1 in cubes)
about 10 cups of chicken stock (if you like broth, if you dont you can add less)
1 lg egg
about a handfull of baby carrots
1/4 c orzo pasta
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp dill
1/2 tsp sage
salt and pepper to taste
in a stock pot sautee garlic, onions, and chicken with a bit of oil.
when the chicken is cooked looking on the outside pour in the stock, bring to a boil.
put 2 ladles of hot broth in a ceramic bowl, crack egg into that bowl and beat immediately. pour that mixture back into the stock pot. simmer, add carrots and orzo and simmer according to the cooking directions on the orzo. when the orzo is done check that the carrots are fork tender. add lemon juice, sage, dill, salt and pepper.
* note: you can use bulleon instead of stock, but you can buy premade stock too (bulleon is just cheaper)
also this is a recipee i usually make out of my head, so if i forgot anything please ask me ro clarify. if you try it i would love to find out how it came out! :)
its especially good if you and/ or your family are sick... the zinc in the garlic, chicken, and stock are really good for you and sage is really good for you when you are sick. ;)
also good for lifting low spirits.
