[Yuuka had been sitting in her garden for quite a while since the Hotel event. She literally had not left it for days, save for necessities. That BOY, did something to Yuuka that she could not understand. Somehow his pathetic clawing for proper speech managed to produce something that set a smoldering pile of ash ablaze in the back of Yuuka's ( Read more... )

*It was a good night to take a walk. Alistair was done with some of his yard work earlier and decided to have some 'me' time, away from the family for a while. He sighs heavily, feeling the cool night air fill his lungs. Alistair stares up at the stars before he feels his shoulder bump into Yuuka.

He stumbles a bit to the side before he stops and lifts his hands.*

Oh, I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention, day dreaming got the best of me yet again. I didn't mean to bump into you miss!

[Yuuka had simply stopped and stared at Alistair as if she were seeing another human being for the first time in her life. Her eyes seemed rather dead and lifeless, and her slight smile was completely empty of any sort of mirth.]

Daydreaming? Yes. Daydreaming. How wonderful. Daydreaming.

Heh, which is silly in itself since it's clearly night time.

*That look on Yuuka's face made him feel uneasy and he wrinkles his nose slightly and tilts his head back and to the side, looking 'down' at her.*

...Is something the matter? You look rather, oh what's the word.... vacant.

Vacant. Vacant. [Yuuka's voice seems to drop into a deadpan state as she repeats this word. her voice, however, still carries a strange canter in between chipper and panicked.]

No, that is not it. But what would you know of it? Do you know? I would appreciate it if you told me, then.

*The Grey Warden lifts up his hands and furrows his brow a fraction*

Vacancy, vacant... meaning nothing is there. Did something happen to you? *She seemed to be very off to the man as he keeps a safe distance from her.*

I want you to tell me.

[Yuuka is walking just a bit faster now. A warm smile spreads across her face; she apparently REALLY WANTS ALISTAIR to tell her...whatever it is she's looking to hear.]

*WELL DAMN, Alistair tries to match her pace as his mind rakes in what to.. exactly say.*

It can mean you're alone, I suppose? *Alistair itches the back of his head.* I personally don't like being alone. I mean, there are times when I do, but most of the time I like to be around someone. There's no telling what would happen if I were to stray off alone for too long.

[Yuuka stops dead in her tracks...and then starts laughing, reaching a hand up to cover her face.]

Why is that funny? I want you to tell me. Why is that funny?

...Becaaause anything that I do alone usually ends in disaster? I have no idea what you're getting at with these questions...

*Alistair wrinkles his nose in thought, his walking growing slow as his mind digs for a response he can't seem to find. He didn't know what exactly this young woman wanted him to say...*

Perhaps.

Perhaps everything ends in disaster. Would you like to see?

I can show you what life amounts to.

I wouldn't say everything ends in disaster. Like, taking a walk! That doesn't usually end disaster unless there were to some kind of freak accident.

Everything ends in disaster for me.

Let me show you.

[Yuuka begins approaching Alistair slowly, continuing to give him a wide smile.]

*Alistair takes a few steps back, shaking his head. Of all the times he needed his sword, or any weapon for that matter. He awkwardly holds up his hands in a defensive motion.*

I think I've had enough disaster here already! I don't need anymore on my plate!

My dear boy, it's never enough. Disaster is a part of life, a solid part of this world, it is not something you may avoid.

I promise, it will be worth it. You cannot run from disaster, it will always find you.

[Yuuka is continuing to sluggishly approach Alistair...and it's unclear whether or not she's really going to DO something.]

*He stops walking back away from her and stands to stare for a moment. The Grey Warden was kind of concerned that this young woman would pass out or something. Those sluggish movements and all.*

You look rather... slow, Miss. Perhaps you are tired?

I am always tired.

But you shouldn't underestimate an old woman.

[Oh, look Alistair...flowers! Pretty flowers of all kinds are growing around your feet...and kind of snaking their way up your legs. They aren't trying to bind him, just simply growing up onto him.]
