An eye infection.
On the plus side, these are so common among cats that I pretty much know already how much the antibiotic will cost and how to apply it. On the downside, the visit itself is $55, and these things can spread like crazy if you don't get control of it fast. And I do mean fast. Infections on kittens (which she most definitely still is) are nothing you want to fuck around with. (And what if it's a respiratory infection? Then I'll have to watch all of them for a while.)
And what bugs me is that in retrospect, she's been sick for the past few days. She's been hiding and avoiding me. I even noticed I hadn't seen enough of her! And now I can't even see the vet until noon tomorrow because I simply have no way to pay upfront until then.
Poor Callie! I'm boiling some water. After it's cooled, I can gently flush out the eye. It won't cure it, but it should make her a little more comfortable. Well, I mean, after she dries.
