"Baby, I'm an anarchist, and you are a spineless liberal",
and despite the bad band that covers that song and is now too expensive
for its original fan base, the words still ring true. Day in and day out I cannot
help but get more annoyed and exhausted with the liberals in radical clothing
that surround me.
It gets old to hear people pay lip service to the idea of collectively working together and making decisions, than, directly after stating their passion for such a horizontally based structure, go immediately into control freak mode, demand their way and only their way, and in every aspect act the part of the authoritarians we speak out against so often. Manipulating a group by bonds of friendship, intimidation, and seniority to achieve ends you have already decided upon, without even listening to the advice, concerns, or cares of those around you, those very people you wish to act according to your ideas, dreams, and wants is not at all a "radical" thing, it is not empowering, it is not revolutionary, and it is, to put it in other words, not fucking core dude.
I am an anarchist, against authority, power, the state, and God.
Solidarity and Love,
Tony!
