Yesterday, I was at a cast party for Goodnight Moon. Yay that show is done. Done. Done. Done. It was going well but then this past week has been the week of hell. First the little moon went out (necessary for puppet play) then the following day the entire theatre lost electricity. We had 100 3yr olds and lost power. Our red emergency lights went on which was good. I'm so happy those turned on 100 3 year olds who would be afraid of the dark would not be fun. Then on Friday the school was late and the actors were pissy (they had gotten their final payment count and were not happy with how little it was.)
I didn't attend any dance rehearsals all week. Really they don't need me. I don't even take notes it really is a waste of my time to be there. Of course it seems like the choreographer can't function without an actor wrangler, which is annoying. I can get so much other shit done if I didn't have to be at dance rehearsal.
This afternoon I had to be box office/house manager/fire guard for Edward II. I hate maitinees. If only because they being in grouchy old people when I'm a grouchy young person who hasn't slept in 3 days. I get asked questions like why don't we have acts broken up in our programs (we're not Broadway we don't have the space for that), why aren't you reviewed? (we are they are just all available online because of how publications work they won't be anything in print until after we close. Again we are of off Broadway and can't afford to have a week of complimentry performances so we can get reviewed. Also when I do hand you an online review you insist its not a proper accredited review because its from that computer thing.) oh and yes, sir this theatrical performance is live. No mam Christopher Marlowe's Edward II is NOT the sequel to Edward Scissorhands. Sir, the quiet signs aren't there for decorations their really is a performance going on and u really should shut the fuck up.
I hate people.

children's theatre,
