Hi all! I know I've been MIA for awhile, but I've been really busy.
Stage managering two shows and working full time is a lot of work and last week my baby brother spent a week in the hospital.
First things first. The baby brother (4) is doing okay for now. My mom took him to the doctor because he was complaining that his leg hurt and we thought he might have sprained it, but then he developed a fever. The pain in his leg got so bad that he couldn't walk on it. First the ER doc said that he probably just pulled a muscle and the fever was unrelated. Two days later the head of the ER called us back because the bros blood came back and he had a high white count. So they stuck the poor kid about 40 times (no kidding) because they couldnt find a vein and then they decided to keep him in the hospital because his white ocunt was really high and they had to stick him again for his iv that kept coming out. A week later, 2 infectious disease specialist, 2 bone doctors (the infection is in his knee), 2 peds docs, and 2 blood specialist later they still cant come up with what kind of infection he has. They did start him on penicillian, good thing the kid is the only one in the family who isn't deathly allegric like me and little bro. He has an appointment on Wednesday to do more blood work to make sure his white count is still down. If it's not then they have to put a tube in his artery and he'll need a nursing service to come to the house four times a day to give him meds. He was suppose to start preschool this month, but that's going to have to wait. *sighs*
There should just be some people who you are allowed to phsyically hurt. Really. Case in point. The actor who quit one of the shows at 5:30am. We open Wednesday. That leaves us less then 2 days to find a replacment and even less for the poor replacement actor to learn lines. One show is really coming along and everything is falling in place nicely, but the other show is just falling to bits. Show 2 might be cancelled and I feel really bad for the actors who put all there time in it this past month. It really isn't fair for them. They are not getting paid for this and I hate for them to think that they have wasted their time and that no one will get to see their work.
as for my day job. They can bite me. I'm leaving at the end of October, whether I am "allowed" to or not.
