Title: Oscar Wilde
Author: Never Walk
Fandom: Velvet Goldmine
Pairing: Curt/Brian
Disclaimer: If I owned them, I'd be a much happier person. But I don't.
Rating: PG? (I suck at ratings)
Notes: In response to weather challenge. 44 minutes. In case you haven't seen the movie, it is strongly implied that Brian is posing as the rock star, Tommy Stone. I'm just going with that.
Warnings: Curt is a bit OOC.
Summary: Following Curt as he leaves the bar after the concert.

***

Face twisting in the rain, Curt stepped out of the bar next to the auditorium where Tommy Stone had just performed. There was only one street lamp glowing in the darkness, trying desperately to provide light to the whole area. Halfway down the block, a white limo was parked, mostly in shadows. Looking away, he felt along his collar where the pin used to be. His Oscar Wilde pin. The pin that Brian had given him years ago. It was time he had passed the pin onto another, but still, a part of him had wanted to keep it forever. Like he hadn't been able to keep the one who had given it to him. With as much as Curt loved Brian, he didn't want to accept that the two of them couldn't be together, but after ten years...

Droplets fell onto him, soaking his long hair so that Curt was forced to push the wet locks behind his ears. He hated the rain. He hated England because of the rain. For a time, he had called the dreary place home because Brian was there. They had been there together. He supposed he still considered wherever Brian went his home, which was just one reason why Curt followed the new Brian. He watched every performance, unable to stop himself, though it ripped his heart out each time 'Tommy Stone' would step out onto the stage to sing.

Pulling his collar up, he again acknowledged that the pin was gone. Water streamed down his face as he walked down the street, grumbling. He hated the rain.

He walked away from the limo, not noticing the tinted window roll down. Tommy Stone leaned out, ignoring the water matting his white hair to his head, and watched Curt move away from him. He waited until Curt was out of sight before rolling his window back up and ordering the chauffeur to drive.
