Note: All of it new; my first RPS (of a sort), first timed piece (about 90 minutes - sorry, I missed the bit saying the time limit was one hour) and first post to Contrelamontre. Feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the kind comments - I really appreciate them.

It did occur to me that nobody would want to read Leonardo slash, but I've seen some fairly bizarre pairings cropping up here and it seemed the only place to post a piece like this one. As far as I'm concerned the Leonardo / Salai story is irresistible, and I'm about to embark on a whole series of related pieces.

Agree with traceace. This is a very, very well-written story. I like it a lot, and think it was one of the best responses to the challenge.

Thank you! I'm glad you weren't put off by the strange pairing, and that you enjoyed the story. There's a better version, which has had a bit of beta work, here, if you're interested.

This is really good stuff. In fact, rather makes me want to know just what the others think about all of this, 'cos I've a feeling you've a lovely unreliable narrator here. In fact, the best thing about this is that you let us see some of his faults while not making him any more or less self-aware than he should be. And that's pretty cool.

Plus, y'know, I'm a sucker for Leonardo and Renaissance art and adding slash into the mix just makes things even better. 8)
