Ooh. Like this a lot. Love that Dom wants the subtle, elusive Billy. That's so endearing for some reason.

You.... ::gestures vaguely at Kate::...write more Dom/Billy. Yes, yes, do. :)

Does Dombillelijah count? Because that seems to be the theme of the weekend, yes.

And while we're at it, I want to lick your icon.

Dombillelijah will count so long as Billy doesn't get pushed out at the end. Dreadfully tired of seeing those. :(

I want someone to write me one in which Dom decides Billy is the one he loves, and Elijah has to be all "heartbroken-but-understanding friend" in the end. Cause there's just too much of the opposite. ::pets Billy::

The icon is very lickable, isn't it? Ah, Billy. :)

Oh, of course not! Here at Domlijbilleh Weekend, it's all about happy equal threesomes. Just ask untitled06 if you don't believe me. ;)

Oh thank you. I'm glad that it came across as tactile because, well, it's very fitting with the senses challenge. I can't wait until the next one is announced, hopefully it will give me less trouble than this one. Thanks!

katedear, i just read this after reading gabbyhope's latest and greatest, and it is definitely a sharp left turn from that one. the both pieces are so different, but work so well in their different ways. i am enraptured with the *coughforlackofabetterwork* subtley of this piece, using the smell of billy to capture the mood and the attitude properly. this is beautiful the way i like things in life to be beautiful--tinged with some inherent sadness or longing. *grabs for the right words* so many lines here that are so simple, and yet so moving--and they manage to convey so very much with the littlest amount of words. "Could" is not the same as "do". Even still, Dom holds this memory like a secret caught in cupped hands, something he must keep in for fear of it breaking loose and flying away, leaving him with nothing but a scent of something that might have been. you twist the knife and let it resonnate in the reader. god i love that. Billy’s sleeve smells like smoke and alcohol when he brings an arm up to touch his cheek, and Dom has ( ... )

Oh yes. I love writing about the quiet things, somehow they seem more real to me, more capable of true emotion.

god, you inspire me. honesthonest.

Eep, I do? *is flattered!* I feel loved. Thank you thank you. I'm glad you liked it, really. And you inspire me, dearie.

honest truth you do, yeah. there are a handful of y'all that i constantly keep in the back of my mind when i write--i think about your writing and the way it makes me feel and i try capture that same slow pull of emotion and physicality and immediateness. i would dedicate all of my stories to the lot of you everytime, but i'm afraid my summary line would get too long. but know this, yes. the things i write, a little corner is always for you, katedear.

I feel loved.

ah you are, dear.

And you inspire me, dearie.

*grin*

Not one of my usual pairings but I love the language in this --

Dom holds this memory like a secret caught in cupped hands

--beautiful. Thanks!

Very lovely and evocative.

Dom wouldn’t call it entirely unwanted, but it’s as different from what he really wants as hot tar on a mild day, too shocking and brash. As far from his perfect almost-memory as they could possibly get, and this is all wrong. This is not sweet and silent, not something just beyond his reach that he wants to grasp out for.

Rang very true for me. Thanks.
