We had a guest speaker come to school today. Her name is Ruth and she is a survivor of the Holocaust. She was hidden in France. She ended up in a Roman Catholic Orphanage and went by the name of Renee. She wrote a book titled, "Your Name is Renee" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0195154991/interactiveda165-20
She brought her photo album that also contained her parents' faked identification and her grandfather's yellow star. You can probably imagine how powerful her presentation was. It's horrifying to think that there are people who believe that it never happened. It's even more horrifying to think that it is still happening in other countries.
