1) The wording in the post is confusing; you list the party date as the Saturday before Mardi Gras and then say, "This is Feb. 5." It is not clear that what you mean is that Mardi Gras is 2/5 and that the party would then be 2/2 (also Groundhog Day) until you look at a calendar.

2) You're welcome to call the place Asylum, but I don't think I will be. Sorry. It doesn't fit my image, and actually, it kind of bothers me. (An asylum is a place for "crazy people," and given my background of insanity = dysfunction, I really don't like thinking of the housemates like that.) The name actually bothers me more than I realized until just now. Again, while you're welcome to call it that yourself, I don't feel comfortable with that as an apartment name.

3) Most importantly, I want to institute a policy where house parties (housewarming, Mardi Grad, etc.) have to have an expressed date run by the house, preferably in a way more formal than asking in the car to BSCF, "Hey, how about a party on Date X?" Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't think we even got that far; I think you asked about the idea of a Mardi Gras party, people made noises of agreement, and then you posted a date of the party in your LiveJournal. I know / am sure you meant well, but I'm not comfortable with this. In the future, please run specifics more clearly and distinctly by us, or if others don't care, at least me.
