Letting go of D.C.
So my bosses were talking about the Colbert interview with the D.C. Senator about how she can't vote and how relatively unimportant she is in Congress. Her staff said she was royally pissed. We were laughing pretty hard about it, mostly for the fact 'how do you go on comedy central and not expect to be lampooned? Why do people keep doing it?' Our legislative director said 'If you don't wanna be embarassed, don't go on Colbert! Everybody knows that!'
Congress is in recess so my sighting of the rock stars of government is done. But my tours are heating up. I love giving tours. Especially to little kids. They have such new exciting information they just learned from school that they just NEED to tell you about the Capitol. Heehe, it's great.
Only one more day left (monday). And (sigh), yes it happened--exactly what I feared would happen. I fell in love with D.C. I fell in love with the Capitol. I fell in love with this job and this office. ~sigh~ Why can't I just clone myself?
