Chapter: 17/?
Synopsis:Neither one, Kouyou or Yuu really remembered them, but Shinji and Naoyuki still kept an eye on them when they had nothing else to do. Kouyou had lost his fairies when he turned ten because he no longer needed his magical fairies to help him. In other words, he had gotten too old and they had to be assigned to another child. The most they could do for Kouyou was watch him from afar and use limited magic to help him, but only in situations when he was in danger. He wasn’t in danger too often --at least not since Takashi’s memory was erased so he didn’t remember how he managed to break his arm, and Kouyou had no idea either'.
“So…” Yuu glanced to his right where his lover stood holding his hand as they walked down the street together. When they told the two fairies to take them home, they meant to one of their houses and not just to some random spot near their homes. At least they got the prefecture right instead of just dropping them off on Earth somewhere random. Thankfully Naoyuki was the one waving the wand around and not Shinji, otherwise the two would be completely lost.
“So… what?” Kouyou looked over as well with a tilt of his head, his honey blonde hair catching in the soft wind.
“To your house to get your things, then to mine?” Kouyou nodded with a small smile, tightening his grip on his lovers hand as they made their way toward his house. For once the two of them could spend time together without worrying whether the other was sick or if two random fairies were going to pop up, which was only a problem after he remembered their existence. He couldn’t help but wonder if they watched him all the time because they knew an awful lot about him even though he hadn’t seen them in years. The thought alone was enough to make him cringe. He didn’t want those two idiots watching him while he had sex; that’s just as bad as his parents walking in on them.
The walk was mostly quiet save for the small comments Yuu made while they passed the house of someone they knew, or he suddenly thought of something he thought was funny. The silence didn’t bother them though because after spending an entire day with a fairy who put a child to shame, they were more than happy to bask in the quietness surrounding them.
It didn’t take them long to get to Kouyou’s house, and it took even less time for him to get his things together. All he really wanted to do was get to Yuu’s house and relax a bit. He didn’t care what they had to do as long as they could spend time together. Somehow they seemed to spend less and less time together as a couple. Now that they were both well and healthy, Kouyou was hoping they could do more together than just talk.
Once inside Yuu’s bedroom, Kouyou tossed his bag to the side and plopped himself down on the large bed off to the side of the room. It was his routine every time he decided to spend time with his lover at his house. Yuu didn’t care if he just threw his bag randomly to the side because Kouyou would pick it up later to get whatever he needed. The blonde rested his head on the pillow that smelled of Yuu’s personal aroma. A smile crossed his plush lips as he buried his face into the pillow and sighed contently.
On the other side of the room, Yuu was picking up movies and video games off the floor that had been tossed aside carelessly. Usually his room wasn’t such a mess, but recently he had become careless.
“What do you want for dinner?” Yuu suddenly asked, looking over his shoulder. He could see Kouyou shrug carelessly and snuggle further into his bed. “I guess I’ll be cooking tonight since my parents seemed to have disappeared.”
“Make something simple so you can come lie down with me.” Kouyou muttered sleepily against the pillow, and Yuu couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped him. Somehow he knew Kouyou was just going to fall asleep before he could even finish dinner, and trying to wake him up was going to be one hell of a job because Kouyou valued his sleep more than anything.
“How about I just make some rice and bring it up to you so you can get some rest?” He asked softly, making his way toward the best to run his fingers through blonde hair lovingly. “Just don’t scream at me when I try to wake you up.”
“Then wake me up in a way that won’t make me scream.” Kouyou waved a hand around as if telling his lover to get his ass downstairs and make dinner so he could sleep.
“Is there even such a way?” Yuu thought aloud, “I always thought there wasn’t.”
“Shut up, dumb ass.”
“Ah, ah, ah~” Yuu sang obnoxiously, “Name calling won’t get you anywhere in life. It also won’t get me in bed with you.”
“Right, and unicorns are going to fly out of my ass. Now would you please stop talking? You try being the focus of some fairy battle and see how tired you get. Y’know, it really is tiring to think so much in one day.”
Yuu laughed to himself and made his way down the stairs to prepare dinner so his lover could get some sleep even if the fairy battle wasn’t that much work in the long run.

“Can I ask a question?” Shin looked up from the plate of food in front of him. It was strange, really, to be on a date with Kazuki of all people. The other boy was usually extremely mean for unknown reasons, but tonight he was oddly quiet. Shin wasn’t complaining, actually he was concerned. He knew how Kazuki was, and he was never so quiet. Even if there was something bothering him, Kazuki always did something to make it look like he were fine, but tonight he didn’t do that.
Kazuki looked across the table with a blank face and nodded slowly. He really could care less about talking to anyone, but maybe talking would clear his mind a bit.. His mind was too focused on Manabu and how cold he had acted toward him. It wasn’t his fault his brilliant idea was upsetting his lover. There was no other way, and Manabu just had to accept it, but he also didn’t want to fight.
“Why are you being so nice and quiet?”
“Does it really matter?” Kazuki continued to stare without a bit of interest in their conversation. Of course he couldn’t tell Shin the truth because that would ruin everything just a bit. No one was supposed to know about Manabu. “I have to be nice to you on our first date. If I’m not your parents would suspect something. We can’t have that, now can we?” Lying to Shin was so easy that he didn’t even have to try, but he could tell Shin wasn’t completely buying it because his excuse still didn’t explain why he was so quiet.
Truthfully, Kazuki felt guilty. It wasn’t every day he found someone like Manabu who was interested in him even after he found out how terrible of a person he was. The other man was like a once in a life time thing for him, and he was mad at himself for tarnishing what they had. Kazuki just had to put his own wants before his relationship, and he couldn’t even pay attention for one second to know how much he was hurting his lover. He didn’t know how Manabu did it because he himself would have left a long time ago, but he couldn’t let anyone know how guilty he felt.
“It’s not really what’s bothering you, but I guess I won’t bother you about it. It must be something big to bother someone as careless as you.” Shin looked down at his plate, suddenly losing his appetite at the thought of how careless Kazuki really was. It was disgusting how Kazuki acted on a daily basis. He cared about nothing but himself, and Shin hated it.
“I’m not careless.” Kazuki mumbled to himself, moving his food around on his plate absentmindedly. If he was careless, his mind wouldn’t have been on Manabu all night. He could only wonder what he was doing, and he wanted to call him to apologize for the way he had acted, but it wasn’t like him to do something like that.
‘I can’t even apologize because I’m so full of myself.’ He thought to himself, sighing deeply and wanting nothing more than to just go home. He would just have to stop acting like himself for once and tell Manabu how he really felt.

Toshimasa was delighted. Even if he were busy at home slaving over the mass amounts of homework his evil teacher had assigned the previous week, he still decided to have a friend over. His homework was important, yes, and he hadn’t been able to work on it due to work, but he was more much interested in Manabu coming over. The younger boy sounded somewhat upset on the phone, so he told him to come over so they could talk face to face. Talking about problems via phone wasn’t very soothing, so Manabu agreed when he was given the address and said he’d be there in a few minutes since they didn’t live too far away.
The waiter was running around his room picking up items and putting them away as fast as he could so his room didn’t look like a complete mess. He hadn’t had time to properly clean because he had taken extra hours at work. His room was just a place he slept and used as a storage area for all his junk. He hardly ever used it for other purposes, so he rarely cleaned. Now that he was going to have company --completely cute and irresistible company-- his room needed to be spotless. Dirty clothes were thrown into the hamper, and papers were thrown into the trash. Moments later there was a knock on the front door, and he all but ran out of his room to answer it since he was the only one home. Don’t think he didn’t check himself in the mirror, smooth out his clothes, and fix his hair before he opened the door because he did. What stood on the other side made him frown because Manabu looked miserable.
“Come in and tell me what’s on your mind.” He said softly, pulling the other man into the room gently. Manabu smiled softly, allowing himself to be pushed toward the couch where Toshimasa sat and patted the cushion next to him.
“I shouldn’t have come here. It’s getting late and I’m sure you were busy, and we just met and it’s probably-”
“Not a problem that you came here.” Toshimasa finished for him once Manabu was sitting next to him. He didn’t mind if the other man needed to talk to someone, and he didn’t care how late it was because it was Manabu. They hardly knew each other, yet Toshimasa was already falling for the other boy. “So go ahead and tell me what’s bothering you so I can help. I really don’t like seeing you so down and depressed.”
Manabu was quiet for a moment, staring down at his hands while he thought carefully to himself. He couldn’t let Toshimasa know he was actually dating Kazuki, and he couldn’t let him know he was dating someone. “Have you ever felt used? Like no one cared and you were just an object them?” He looked up at Toshimasa who was looking down at his own hands and biting his lip before nodding slowly.
“All the time.” Toshimasa answered, sighing to himself before smiling, “But it doesn’t matter anymore how many times I’ve been used because I know one day I’ll find the right person.”
“So… what do you do? Do you just accept that you’ve been used or what?” Manabu asked, “Sometimes being friends with someone is pointless because they don’t really care how you feel, or what you think.”
“You leave them, that’s what you do.” Toshimasa suddenly became serious, his eyes in slits as he spoke. “I’m assuming this has something to do with Kazuki, right? It’s an easy solution. He doesn’t deserve a friend like you in his life if he’s just going to disrespect and hurt you. You look absolutely crushed, and I don’t even need to know the specifics to tell you I want to kill him.” The dark-haired man clutched his hands into fists and glared.
“So am I correct to assume you’re one of those people who wouldn’t use me?” Manabu smiled shyly at the other boy who was blushing softly.
“How could I use someone like you?” He didn’t realize what he was doing, he didn’t realize he was leaning in until his lips were pressed against Manabu’s softly. His hand came up to rest on the back of the younger boy’s neck, pulling him closer as Manabu responded. At least Toshimasa wasn’t getting pushed away for suddenly kissing him, so he didn’t have to worry about getting hit. Besides, it was already clear that Manabu liked him, right? Why else would he have asked him on a date?
Manabu gasped softly letting Toshimasa’s tongue slip into his mouth. His arms wrapped around the taller boy’s neck, bringing him even closer. He shouldn’t have been doing this because things between him and Kazuki were bad enough as it was, but wasn’t this what he wanted all along? To cheat on Kazuki with someone his lover hated? Then why did this feel so right? Why did he feel like he had done nothing but wasted his time with Kazuki in the first place?
Toshimasa ran his fingers through Manabu’s dark hair, pressing himself closer to the smaller body in front of him. Suddenly Manabu was pulling away, scrambling for the phone ringing in his pocket with an apologetic look on his face. The older boy sighed running his fingers through his own hair as Manabu got up to answer the call in another room, and Toshimasa stayed seated on the couch thinking be probably went too far too soon. When you first meet someone, you don’t just shove your tongue down their throat even if they do hint at liking you back. It was just wrong in his head, and he wouldn’t be surprised if Manabu decided to leave after his phone call.
“What do you want?” Manabu hissed into the phone, sliding open the sliding glass doors that led to Toshimasa’s back porch. God, he was so frustrated because he finally felt right with someone, and he was forgetting about his problems for the time being, that is until his problem decided to call him and ruin the moment.
“I’m sorry.” Kazuki muttered on the other end of the phone. Manabu could tell he really meant it, but he wasn’t going to forgive him so easy. If he did, Kazuki would think it would be easy to just apologize and be normal again. “I’ve been a complete jackass and you’re right. I can’t break this thing off with Shin though. I’ll just… not treat him like a boyfriend, not even in front of his parents. The most contact I’ll have with him is hugging him. I don’t want to kiss him.” Little did Manabu know that he had already kissed Shin.
“Sorry isn’t going to fix things. How many times do I have to tell you apologizing over the phone is meaningless?”
“You’re not home for me to apologize to in person. I felt bad and decided to go back, but your mom said you went out. Care to tell me where you are?” Manabu sighed deeply, leaning his body against the banister. There was no way he could tell Kazuki where he really was because that would just cause a problem. He didn’t need anyone ruining what he could potentially have with Toshimasa.
“Yes, I do care. I don’t need you to ruin my mood any more than you already have. You can talk to me at school tomorrow.”
“You know I can’t do that!” Kazuki whined on the other end. He tried his best to stay away from Manabu while they were at school because it would be easy to see there was something more between them beside the normal friendship. The way Manabu looked at him would give it away in seconds. Chances were they would get into another fight in front of everyone and it would expose him. But why was that such a problem when he was going to come out and let everyone know he was with Shin? Nothing he was doing was making sense to him.
“Then I guess you won’t be apologizing to me.” Manabu shrugged, picking at his fingernail carelessly. “Now if you would excuse me, I have something I was doing before you decided to interrupt me. Try to refrain from calling me any more tonight.”
Without letting Kazuki say another word, he ended the call and shoved his phone back in his pocket. Back inside, Toshimasa was lying on the couch staring up at the ceiling. He had turned off the lamp beside the couch so the room was almost dark save for the light filtering out from the television. Manabu smiled to himself, making his way to the couch. Toshimasa wasn’t even paying attention to the anime playing; he didn’t seem to be focusing on anything other than his thoughts.
“Sorry about that.” Manabu smiled sheepishly, leaning down to press his lips against Toshimasa’s once more. He could feel the older boy smile against his lips once he snapped out of his thoughts. “Some people don’t know it’s rude to apologize over the phone, it seems.”
“He isn’t worth your time.” Toshimasa muttered softly, pulling Manabu down on top of him with a slight giggle. “He’s the one who made you come here in the first place because you were upset. Don’t give him the satisfaction of accepting his apology.” He ran his fingers through Manabu’s hair once again.
“I won’t. He’ll only make me mad again. He always does.” Manabu moved so his back was against the back of the couch and his head was resting on Toshimasa’s chest. “Besides, I’d much rather stay here with you for awhile before going back home where I know he’ll be. He’ll try his best to apologize and I’ll have to kick him out of my house.”
“Or you could just not go home and stay with me…” Toshimasa grinned.
“But what about my uniform?” Manabu suppressed a yawn as he wrapped his arms around the other boy. If he spent the night with Toshimasa, he wouldn’t have his uniform for school tomorrow, and he hated to miss school because it made him fall behind in his classes.
“We can stop by your house on our way there. I always drive to school, so I’ll just drop you off and wait for you to change. Sound good?” Manabu thought for a moment before smiling and nodding. It wouldn’t hurt to stay the night where Kazuki wouldn’t be able to find him. The last place he would look was Toshimasa’s house. He was perfectly safe from another argument.
---
‘Why is this so hard?’ Yuu thought to himself. Waking up Kouyou was the hardest thing to do ever. He didn’t want to risk getting hit by Kouyou’s flying fist, and he didn’t want to get yelled at. How was he supposed to wake the blonde up if he’d get yelled at or hit no matter what he did?
He had already made dinner and had two bowls of rice sitting on the table next to his bed. The problem was Kouyou seemed dead to the world because he was in such a deep sleep. Yuu had already tried tickling him, shaking his shoulder, and even kissing him but he just wouldn’t wake up. ‘Maybe he’s dead.’ He rose an eyebrow at the sleeping figure. Ugh, the last thing he needed was a dead guy in his bed.
“Kouyou.” He tried shaking the boy again, but all he got in response was a slight snort when Kouyou turned his head and buried it further into the pillow.
“I didn’t just slave over the stove to have the food get cold!” He snapped, rolling Kouyou over by the shoulders. Surprisingly he hadn’t been hit yet. Usually he’d be on the ground rubbing his abused face for even touching him.
“Why won’t you get up?!” He squealed, climbing on the bed and kicking the blonde in the side. It probably wasn’t the best way to wake a person up, but he was just taking drastic measures. If Kouyou asked, he was fixing one of the posters on his wall and accidentally kicked him on purpose. It didn’t make sense, but neither did Kouyou half the time, so he wasn’t worried.
To his surprise, Kouyou did wake up. In fact he grabbed Yuu by the waist of his pants and slammed him down on the bed with a glare. Yuu didn’t even get a chance to explain his poster lie before Kouyou was hitting him as hard as he could. “You stupid bastard! That is not how you wake up your boyfriend. I could have you killed for that.”
“No you couldn’t! you don’t know anyone who would kill someone for you.” Yuu rolled his eyes and pushed the furious blonde away. “Besides, you wouldn’t wake up. Now stop being a baby and eat.”
“You’re definitely not getting laid tonight, Yuu.” Kouyou pouted when Yuu handed him his bowl of rice.
“I wasn’t planning to. Were you?” Yuu began eating his own food when Kouyou blushed and shook his head.
“Of course not~” Kouyou replied in a voice that meant he was lying. “There’s more to our relationship than just sex, right? Besides, you won’t be getting any for awhile. You know how long I can go without having sex, so you’re going to suffer for kicking me.”
Yuu almost choked on his food. Kouyou could go months without sex if he wanted to. That was the one problem with dating someone with so much willpower. He was doomed. He couldn’t go that long without it; maybe just a few weeks but not full on months at a time. Kicking Kouyou was probably the dumbest idea he had.
“That’s not fair!” Yuu pouted, “You wouldn’t wake up! How else was I supposed to get you up?!”
“You could have put your mouth to work. I’m sure you would have woken me up.” Kouyou shrugged, continuing to eat as if nothing had happened.
“But… then I wouldn’t have wanted to eat and my rice would have been cold. My parents aren’t fond of wasting food.”
“Pfft,” Kouyou snorted, “Do you always listen to your parents? Besides, isn’t pleasing your boyfriend more important than some silly bowl of rice?”
“I forgot I have a sex fiend for a boyfriend.” The older boy mumbled to himself and shoved more rice into his mouth.
“That’s another month, love.” Kouyou smirked. “At this rate, it’ll be another year before you ever have sex.”
“Damnit.”
A/N: I'm sorry I've once again taken long to update. -_- This chapter isn't Aoi/Uruha centric like I had planned. It's obvious I can't write a chapter without going along with the plot, so don't expect a chapter with just one pairing at a time (and yes, there were two plots in this story). I already have another chapter written that will be used after a few more chapters have been written. :)
