Testimony: I feel loved

Sep 14, 2010 04:04

I didn't wake up now cos' I stayed up or something. I woke up because I had diarrhoea just now.

What happened:
- Yesterday night I consumed the lethal combination of Starbucks Chocolate Chip Cream Ice-blended and sushi from Isetan which sold at 50% off cos' it was closing soon for the day.

- Already felt the 'wind' in my stomach before I went to bed, but didn't think it would spell disaster. (Retrospect: So this is what they call 'the calm before the storm'?)

- Just now at 3.15am, felt short and sharp stirring sensations in my stomach which literally just forced open my eye-lids (after sleeping for about 2+ hours only) and get down from bed to go to the toilet.

- First time in the bathroom: The diarrhoea episode started. Still didn't feel very well after that trip.

- Drank some warm water (and felt very bloated), rubbed some medicated ointment. Took only about a minute for the pain to start again.

- Second time in the bathroom: Still diarrhoea, but this time felt like vomiting. So I told myself, I don't want to vomit, I don't want to vomit. The pain increased. So I told myself, okay I still have a few more hours to go before I have to go for exam. Hope I heal by then...!

- Suddenly, remembered my experience at my last YC -- I felt unwell due to higher altitudes (I didn't know it was the cause back then) and also cos' I attempted to blow a balloon (which made the high altitude sickness even worse due to lack of oxygen in the brain). I had diarrhoea, and during the time when I felt really painful and unbearable, I prayed to God to help me feel better. After praying, I waited for a while, and I really felt better, like the stirring in my stomach stopped and it became 'stable' and calm.

- So this time, I prayed again just like in that experience, that my Heavenly Father would help me feel better, and believing that my prayer would be answered.

- True enough, as I closed my eyes to pray, I could feel my stomach and my heart calm down (just like how the tumultuous waves in a thunderstorm ceases and calms down). By the time I finished praying, I felt much better. I thank Heavenly Father for being so merciful and answering my plea instantly. (:

- That made me think of the hymn "I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go" -- Since the Lord is so merciful and so kind to answer our prayers and cater to our every need, shouldn't we be more willing to serve him and go where He wants us to go and do what He wants us to do to thank Him for all He has done for us?

- From this small experience, I also learnt that I could suggest to my Father to have a small bottle of medicated ointment with him to use whenever he experiences stomach discomforts or has a diarrhoea. The ointment really soothes the bowels.

- Of course, there are a variety of medicated ointments to choose from, so you don't necessarily have to choose the stinkiest one -- there are also non-stinky ones which works just as well.

Yup, really grateful that I feel better now.

P.S Lessons learnt:
Eat (with caution)
Pray (with faith, sincere intent and patience)
Love (God who also loves me very much, and others around me that I'm concerned about)

inspirations, family, loving others, service, memories, blessings, learning a lesson, spiritual moment, reflections, love from others
