Sad Times
I know it has been a few days now, but I want to comment on the death of Steve Erwin. I really like him. And moreover, I liked what he did. There was something comforting in the fact that he knew enough about alligators to go in a wrestle them. It showed that the world made sense and if you knew enough, you could do amazing things. Nature wasn't "red in tooth in claw" if you knew how to behave around it. Now, the illusion of control once again broken. The world is a wild and dangerous place even when you are well informed about it.
