...in the 1980's the government made it easier to get a patent? You'd think this would make it more profitable to be an inventor and thus we'd get more inventions, but instead we got 'strategic patents' where companies patent just about anything so they can sue if someone does it. Case in point, Mircosoft pantented a to-do list and another company pantented the process of toasting.
...Microsoft had no political presense in Washington before it was sued for being a monopoly? That's right, Microsoft was making big bucks and not giving any of it the the Senators. Guess what, after they got sued Microsoft started making political contributions to both sides.
...the government was looking into sueing cereal companies in the 1970's? The FTC thought that there was not enough competetion and that it must be some sort of anti-consumer practice.
If this isn't enough to make you at least want less government, well then, I don't know what's wrong with you.
