it feels amazing to be up so late [10:45 p.m.] with nothing impending in the next 6 hours.
i've managed to have all of tomorrow, a Friday, off work.
though the day could have been better saved for July 8th and a trip to houston.
my summer has been boringly surreal, in that way that occurs when one rarely sleeps but spends 97% of her time awake literally laboring, causing weeks to unpleasantly melt together.
i've been resourceful enough to find new simple pleasures:
my free time which only occurs after 11pm
creating a soundtrack for each day
buying clothes
buying domestic items on sale
taking myself to shitty movies late at night
the 24 hour subway in OLOL.
running
sex
rockstar
an example of how these fit together; a single but sufficient entry for the entire summer:
after returning to baton rouge from a shift at plaquemine's wal-mart, i "treat" myself to Rave's 11 p.m. viewing of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants [for summer holiday extra fun, i may change this variable to Rockin' the Corps] in which i am the only member of the audience.
(i'm always get flashbacks of that certain X-files episode when i first enter the theater. remember which one?)
restless from the 3 cans of rockstar and no-doz i've added to my diet, i head to Our Lady of the Lake. (after completing a full shift at waffle house earlier that morning, i authoritatively know that the hospital is the best choice for late-night dining)
on the way there i turn up today's favorite song: Master P - I Need Dubs, enjoying the empty road and thinking about how i too should put ice on my grill just to hurt them haters.
the hospital corridors are dark, frigid, and deserted, save for the Subway's nook.
i eat, freeze, and work on crossword puzzles in the dark with a few employees and nurses.
around 2 or 3a.m., i return home for the first time since 6a.m., admiring my fig and orange trees in the courtyard and the honeysuckle vines that now make crossing over my porch a challenge.
i flop into bed with my (ex???)bf and menacing kitten, both passed out on my new target Bella sheets [expensive but still shitty].
for some reason i'm enjoying this.
yet, believe it or not, i will allow for interruptions if anyone wants to donate them.
