To start off, Brendan is a pretty cool and collected guy. He holds this 'cool guy' air about him, one that looks to be able to face any situation with no hesitation and with everything he's got.
In a way, it's true. Of course Brendan wouldn't entirely think he's a really cool guy, not really, and getting to know the guy you would probably find your thoughts on him changing. He always has a positive attitude, seeming friendly and open to meeting new people and Trainers, he's honest but careful-- he knows when there's a time and moment to say something and not to. When he talks, he doesn't try to say something that might become hurtful for the other person, though this changes easily for those he knows and is even friends with. His personality reflects mostly on who he's talking and dealing with. As mentioned, with new people he seems like this chill guy, friendly and willing to hold a conversation. Though something that can be noticed first off is he isn't as enthusiastic to Pokemon battling as most Trainers are. It makes him sound odd to be put that way, but he's a pretty odd guy deep down. He tends to tease his friends a lot, harmless teasing mind you, but he doesn't resist when he's pretty comfortable with someone. His teasing can range from light flirting to making fun and jokes of others. If there's one thing to notice, it's to never take his teasing serious, he never really means what he says unless the situation calls for it.
So what's this about not taking a huge jump for battling? Of course he is a Trainer, why wouldn't he! He just doesn't do it as much as Trainers usually do. Yes, he'll train his Pokemon, he has no problem in it, and he'll battle as well. How else would he have gotten all those badges? His battling structure is a bit different though, and if you watch closely you can figure it out. When Brendan battles, he tries not to hurt his Pokemon. There's nothing more noticeable, and possibly awing, as his deep devotion and love for his fellow comrades. Each of his Pokemon are something special to him, a cherished and dear friend that he would even sacrifice himself for them. Such as while some Pokemon react to protecting their Trainer, Brendan does the opposite. He instead protects them despite the knowledge of knowing they can well handle themselves unlike himself. This is proven by the various scars and injuries he tends to get time and time again, he would rather be hurt in place of his Pokemon, which goes to show how big and caring a heart Brendan has.
He would never ask to see them hurt. Now, while Brendan's personality seems to focus mostly on being friendly and very caring, as gentle as he can be.. he can be a bit tempered as well. He won't hesitate to snap his tongue on anyone treating a Pokemon horribly, especially his own or putting them down. After all, Pokemon have feelings and what you say to them can affect them greatly. He can get very angry at this time, even if someone puts his friends in danger. He always thinks there could be a way better way to approach things not involving violence, but if someone oversteps the line he will not hesitate to throw a punch or two. Any other time, he can be serious when the matters comes to it, he's actually pretty deep into thinking when his mind comes to it. He'll ponder over things carefully, as seen when he spends day figuring out new ways to edit his fighting structure in battling. He's pretty intelligent, easily amused to figure out puzzles and reading up on new information on Pokemon and their living and anything that'll help bring his Pokemon to living more relaxing.

Now contests are what he really enjoys joining. He can be easily amazed and in awe at what can be seen in shows, as if that isn't enough he himself is an always participate. Each of his Pokemon seem to belong to a certain category, constant training and working on the particular type is what spends most of his time. It's during these times you may see a brighter and exciter image of the teen. He's very talkative when it comes to contests, he doesn't even bother to hide his great love for it or even seem to be bothered or embarrassed that a guy holds such a liking to it. It's possibly what makes him feminine, as in this time will he either be found sewing new clothes (mostly for his Pokemon but sometimes his friends), even flattering and spoiling his Pokemon with treats and grooming. And man can this teen be competitive, when in the mood he'll be sure to be up to some harmless battling.

At the start of Brendan's journey he was fifteen, and since I'm taking him post game, I'm taking him an age older due to having his birthday passing while traveling.

[A sudden nudge of the feed and the function switches to video, revealing the young teen with spectacles on his face as he intently inspects the damage done to his items. A gold and orange fox-like creature stares curiously into the feed till giving a wave of his tail.] But I'm relieved that wasn't the case, there's only so much water he can handle. He's tough though so I shouldn't be too worried, no harm made.
Anyways, I was explained a bit of what's going on and all but I don't really get it. Why are we here? For what reason? [His gaze flickers to the feed momentarily, quickly removing his glasses and his cheeks might have been spotted being pink for a moment.] Uhh... Would it be too much to ask if there's a Pokemon Center? Since apparently the most of you have been living under rocks, but even if you did how the heck can you not know what a Pokemon is?
