Tirzah's 9 month appt.

Tirzah had her 9 month appt. today. I like this appt. b/c it's a no shot appt. :)

Her stats:

Weight: 18 lb. 9 oz - okay some stress with this.
Length: 28 inches
Head 18 1/2 inches

The weight thing bothers me a teeny tiny bit. She was 17 lbs. 11 oz. at her 6 mo visit. That means she gained 14 oz in three months. Hello, that's not even a pound in three months. She is still 50th percentile, so she's right on. And honestly, I don't want to seem like I'm complaining about it, b/c it sure is nice to have a child that is normal in the weight dept. The Dr. was not concerned in the least bit. And believe me, I asked him a few times. He said that she's mobile, probably eating less and burning more calories, what would I expect? I can't believe I might actually have a child who isn't 20 lbs. by their first birthday. How strange that would be.

We also talked about her ginormic head. He was like, "Well your husband has a big head, doesn't he?" Ha ha, he knows him so well. Seriously though, he said both the boys have larger heads, it shouldn't be a concern. He did remeasure it to make sure it wasn't off.

I asked about her lack of growth in her feet. Again, not concerned. Notice a trend here? He said as long as she's growing length wise, her feet will catch up. I'm fine with that now. But if she turns 1 y/o and is still wearing a size 1 shoe, we might have to revisit this. I mean, don't feet help you stand better? And the fact that she curls her toes to begin with doesn't give her much to stand on.

Other than that, she has big time stranger anxiety and screamed through the entire appt. How's that for fun?

The Dr. did recommend using Cetaphil on Tirzah at least two to three times a day. He said that right now with it being so dry, don't take any chances. I don't believe I've ever used Cetaphil. I'll be looking that up at the store.

Checked all the crevices and openings, everything seems to be fine.

Great appt.
