Enter the Light
The blade struck, deep it sank, blood and water flowed
Victory seemed far away, the shadow of death grew
The night seemed forever, the stillness a chill in the air
You seemed far away and the enemy closer still
The next day arrived, on I walked with my hands clenched
If I had only cried out for my friend, he'd still be here
The dark of night arrived again and I failed to see the light
For surely it had faded with the darkness of our loss that day
So down the road I traveled, the moon my lone guide before
His face displayed in beautiful radiance upon my minds eye
My journey brought me forth, through dark of night to light of day
Yet still his place upon my mind remained
The 'Day of Rest' has arrived, yet peace I do not find
For my master has been slain, the truth silenced it seems
My head hung in shame, tears fill my eyes as hope drifts away
Yet the air fills my ears, closes in, envelopes me in its embrace
Then a warmth runs through my body, a fire burning deeply
As the touch of a hand upon my shoulder crushes all hoplessness within me
I turn slowly 'round, joy stretching the seams of my heart as I see
Christs smiling face before me, I fall to my knees and embrace the Savior
He lifts me to my feet, holds me close to his heart and sings;
"Believe in me, I surely live, Enter the Light of my love for it is everlasting"
