Holy fuck, I guessed NCIS.
Guy was having an affair with his best friend, who was a priest. His wife found out and confronted him, so he killed himself. (Okay, I didn't guess suicide till far into the show, but that still makes it SORTA the wife's fault, so 'the wife did it' was close to correct.)
