MNBFBW brought
Eugene McDaniels' Headless Heroes of the Apocalypse into my life and I recommend it.
Santogold is like an anthology of a given summer's best pop hits except that it's a single album by a single artist and it's irresistable and I'm turning into
Jackie Harvey. But for serious, I'm addicted.
Also still loving The Odd Couple and feel responsible for telling people that it is better than St. Elsewhere and if they care about music they should buy it. Similar thing for Rising Down by The Roots. It's great. No, I won't burn it for you. They're gonna get dropped by Def Jam, esp now that Hov's not there to advocate for them.
[EDIT: Ps-after listening to the full album the classification of
Santogold's album as being Hip Hop or R&B seem even more insane. Also: doesn't really sound like M.I.A. I know they're both women of color who make genre-confusing music with beats so it's difficult to think of anyone else in the fucking world to reference. Besides Kelly Rowland.
