I made it back from DC in one piece, only a little worse for wear.
Actually, I was back (late) Friday night, and I was in Athens with
wahmuk * and Reece all day yesterday. We had Indian food for dinner. And damn, it was good!
I had an alright time on "vacation". Jobs are plentiful in DC. If I moved there, I'd be working in less than a week. But the housing cost is as bad (if not worse than!) OC, and the weather... Well, I'd rather be warm. And PRaco is the world's greatest boss. And we're not even adding Scott to the equation yet.
Mom and Dad stressed me a little - neither one of them can drive in traffic. If you are in the wrong lane on the freeway, and you have me in the car, do not stop. Put on your turn signal, look for a clearing and GO! Stopping will only make me scream obscenities at you and insist upon taking over your car. Additionally, when I am driving, if you do not like my driving, calmly step out of the vehicle at the next stop. Bitching will only make me want to throw you out of the vehicle while it's still moving. I do not know for certain how long I can fight that urge although I have as yet not given in.
The Fuj should have his name changed. To Osama. The cat is a terrorist! He is still wet (squirt bottle is my new best friend) and I am scratched from head to toe.
I must sound like I enjoy my showers (and I DO!) as just like Solie, he joined me in the shower this morning. And then he realized that water is wet. And bailed. Rapidly. Tearing the shower curtain down in his haste.
Reece did very well in my absence. As proud as I am of his self reliance and responsibility; it is somewhat saddening to know that your child no longer needs you.
It's good to be home.
It really is.
*edited to correct Jamie's user name. Just... damn.
