Endless Energy Puppy has Endless Energy.

Okay, so Jim goes back to school this coming week, and he works too- and bless him, because I have poor stamina and can't safely wander too far from the house either, HE has been bearing the brunt of the walks Cora needs to keep her energy levels under control. (and thus, prevent the so-called 'Rottie Crazies' which are EXACTLY like 'the cat crazies' when your cat streaks all over the house like a maniac... except with a 68lb ROTTIE... yeah.)

A few days of the week, he is going to be leaving at 4am and not coming home till 9pm... so the twice a day hour-long walks might be HARD to do on those days- and the trainer and vet have a plan:

A Treadmill.

Doggie treadmills are expensive (especially big enough for how big she will get!!) and people treadmills are too- but sometimes a used one can be had for barter, on the cheap, or even free- since it only needs to work in the basic sense, it doesn't need to be pretty!!

If you are close to the Seattle Area (or north of it) and have a Treadmill I can buy cheap or even that you could donate to the cause, we plan to modify it and put it to use as Cora's new workout on those days Jim has such long days!

It only needs two things:

1) To be electric, so IT moves, forcing her to walk along with it, as opposed to relying on her to move it- she needs to learn to walk on the 'moving road' so to speak!

2) To have handles that extend in some way that it makes it possible to tie/bind/wire/bolt on some sides of simple plexiglass/wire/plywood. All it needs, are SIDES- so she doesn't wander off the sides of it. MOST of the electric ones have 'handrails' that wrap from the front to the base, and that would be ideal. We can add the sides to them!

Let us know if you have a unit that we can have, barter for, or buy inexpensively, and we will get it outfitted and start training our endless-energy puppy to exercise herself a few days a week! I will just sit by the controls/head and talk to her, feed her treats, etc, for an hour or so every day on those days she needs me to do the walking!

Yay for options!!

needs, treadmill, exercise
