Fly agarics, fly agarics everywhere!
Well, what can I say? Mushroom-hunting is much more fun when there are actual mushrooms to hunt. We had tremendously bad luck last year (and two years ago iirc), but this time things looked... promising, at least. Not a bad result for August. Mom is all about penny buns - we found quite a few of them, and as for me, I only care for honey mushrooms. Let's just all agree that cutting their fresh firm fruit bodies off a birch stump is better than sex, chocolate or anything else life has to offer; also they make good pickles. Got my fix at last.
It's amusing how not a lot of mushrooms gradually transforms into quite a lot of mushrooms as you carry them home. And then proceed to become hella lot of mushrooms while you wash and cut them.
Unrelated: Himaruya makes me really happy lately - first the Nordic bro sim, of all things, then the whole EU saga (I so hope it's not over yet). Lately I've been feeling kind of... burned out? it's-not-like-I-have-anything-smart-to-contribute? about the fandom, so a reminder why I came to love this series was very much appreciated.
