I am home right now, which is great.
Friday night was fun, nice Gerard time, nice mom and Britta time...
Us girls watched The Philadelphia Story, and it was marvelous.
However, upon waking up this morning, I was sick. Better to be sick at home, however. I read the new Jane magazine, went to some local shops, and got a SHAMROCK SHAKE at McDonald's! Gerard and I also went to Friendly's for chowder and quesadilas!
Tonight mom and I ate chinese food and watched Pirates of the Caribbean! Yeah!
I did not get a lot of Britta time, but I figure I will have plenty over spring break so it's cool.
I brought home my african violet for repotting.
I was in the basement, looking through a box of flowerpots, and I found something remarkable at the bottom. It was a windchime my father had made back when I was in elementary school. A piece of wood with two butter knives and two forks with curled prongs. I remember when he made it, and I remember it hanging on our balcony. It's funny because I actually have thought of that windchime over the years. I always wish I had something more tangible from my father. I have some pictures, a gift or so, but something my father actually crafted is far more meaningful to me. I'm so very happy I found this. I cleaned it up some and will fix it. Talk about an item holding sentimental value.
Very happy, and only a little sad now.
