"We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost,"

- President Barak Obama

Let us examine how he has remained true to these powerful words.

I feel like you're being a bit disingenuous about the human embryonic stem cell research. Scientists have only been able to use them in research since 1998 when it was discovered how to isolate and propagate the cells. While there has been a ban in federal funding in place since 1996 (Thanks to President Clinton), private funding was still allowed and how they made that discovery. Further discoveries were greatly hindered by President Bush's decision in 2001 to not allow scientists to experiment outside of the already available cell lines. Cell lines that were later discovered to have been contaminated ( ... )

I have moral issue with embryonic stem cells. I have an issue with wasting money on red herrings.

Your comment seems to suport my statement. Unless your arguement is that we need more time to research embryonic stem cells. My arguement is that it will not produce what we had originally assumed it would. That adult stem cells will because they are more controlable. As you noted.

You're obviously a person of science so let me ask you this another way. How long do you research something and ignore the results and data and instead work with a hypothesis that has been proven incorrect? The premise that Embryonic stem cells has potential to be a cure-all (as was sold to us by Obama and John Edwards) is the wrong hypothesis.

It cannot be considered a theory because the data does not support it. The link you supplied and your previous argument state that we know, through testing and the scientific method, that adult stem cell research yield results desirable. Embryonic Stem Cells do not. Now, perhaps in the future when our technology and understanding increases we can extract the usefulness of Embryonic Stem Cells. At this time, we need to focus on Adult Stem Cells. ESPECIALLY with federal monies. That is the people's money and should be used only on what will yield results.

False statement. There was no "ban" on stem cell research, just using federal funds. President Bush actually opened up federal funds for pre-existing stem cell lines.
