Poll Senator Kerry's remarks

EDIT: CNN's coverage on this is shameful, it provides absolutely no context to the statement. MSNBC is somewhat better:The Massachusetts senator, who is considering another presidential run in 2008, had opened his speech at Pasadena City College with several one-liners, joking at one point that Bush had lived in Texas but now “lives in a state ( Read more... )

So you believe that John Kerry intended to call the men and women of the armed forces stupid?

It wouldn't be as bad as things he's said about them in the past.

Well, what makes more sense?
  1. ::joke about GWB::
    ::joke about GWB::
    ::joke about GWB::
    "Wow, are troops stupid!"
    ::joke about GWB::
  2. ::joke about GWB:: all the way through
I'd think the choice would be obvious.

Wish I did. I've been looking for one, with no success so far. In the meantime, I'm relying on info already presented in conservatism that Kerry had been putting out several zingers and jokes at GWB's expense.

Seriously, inserting an insult aimed at military troops in Iraq in the midst of several jokes at GWB's expense simply fails the "common sense" test.

But accidently insulting the troops while trying to make Bush look bad doesn't.

QUESTION: Senator, do you regret saying the remark? And what were you trying to say?

KERRY: Very simple: that those who didn't study it properly, those who made the decisions, they got us into Iraq. Very simple.

From a press conference today, and posted on his blog.

If the comment was about Bush (who had the same GPA as him) then he was just as well commenting about himself, which is not believable.

Yes, we all know that GPA is a great indicator of how hard you've worked and how much you learned in college.

Having a low one is.

In what universe? There are so many variables in there that a direct comparison of GPA is at the very least irrelevant.

Kerry worked hard and studied and still ended up with a GPA as low as Bush's?
He didn't major in anything hard so that would pretty much make him stupid.

And since GPA, in your universe, doesn't count for much, how do you and Kerry know that Bush didn't work hard and study?
