Cola never did shit for me, personally.
Of course, neither did birthdays. Narcissistic little holidays. Suppose everyone's got one, though.
[Private to Matt]
So, got a birthday wish?

Narcissistic?

Holidays focused on personal rot, you know. Celebrate your own birth, that kind of shit.
[A little pause, mostly for Mello to roll his eyes.]
There's a cola machine lurking around out there. Think fizzy battery acid. Course that might not mean anything to you either.

It's not rot, to count how long you've been existing. A year's a long time to look back on. A lot of important memories can happen in a year.
Fizzy battery acid? So it's like the drinks at Thorn, only fizzy.

Well...Birthdays are still nice things for friends to do for each other, I think.
Matt will probably want some of it.

You know, can't say I spend a lot of time wondering about what nice things I can do for friends.
[And here comes the great ironic twist.]
Yeah. Picked up one for him.

One day out of a whole year isn't a lot of time.

Depends on how many friends you've got.
Could be a hell of a lot more than one day, if you're a social butterfly. 'Course, not here.
