Her warm-up was simple enough- three repetitions of thirty snaps of her whip, alternating between overhead, backhand and underhand maneuvers. They were all done as she remained stationary, the heels of her boots dug deep into the earth as she brought her whip down against the ground. To her dismay though, during the third repetition she could begin to feel a dull ache traveling through her dominate arm, the muscles far more tense than usual- an automatic reaction of her body to the absence of magic which usually enhanced her physical condition. She refused to cease such a simple exercise though, her pride forcing her to complete the rest of the repetition.
With the last snap, Quistis let out a frustrated sigh, her left hand moving to massage her right shoulder, kneading out the knots of her muscles. She was a top ranked SeeD cadet, had faced numerous monsters and even aided in saving her home world- and now she couldn't even complete a warm-up without her arm aching? It was an embarrassment more than anything.
Deciding that she needed to give her arm a brief rest before continuing with her training, Quistis curled Saved the Queen carefully, making sure not to catch her exposed skin against the barbs which lined the leather. Clipping the whip back onto her belt, Quistis turned to take a brief walk around the grounds, but was surprised as she caught sight of a figure standing off to the side. He seemed vaguely familiar, but Quistis couldn't exactly put her finger on it- perhaps a passing face she had seen during her stay here? She noticed that his hands were still gloved and mentally wrote off the possibility of he being a conscript, as the itching sensation of the covered mark was almost unbearable. Maybe he was a native?
Mentally shrugging it off, Quistis hesitated for a moment before deciding the approach the stranger. "Hello." She gave him a small smile, "Are you a resident of New Utopia?"
